Work or stay home with the baby?

So… this is a big questions with, I’m sure, multiple answers. To work or stay home with a new baby. With Toni and I expecting this coming June, this is something we really need to figure out and soon.

So my wife and I both have jobs that we’re happy with, pretty stable, and not to bad of pay. But can we afford to take 9, 6, or even 3 months? We are looking forward to the baby shower to help us get started, but just how long will that last us? My wife will be taking 3 months off from school teaching. My job can offer me the safe time off but I’m not to sure if that’s the smartest option, even though I don’t want to miss a minute of my new baby girl, let alone have Toni do all the work. What are you thoughts?

  • When u say safe time is that unpaid? There’s many of things to deal with when having a baby. One of the most impotant things is time. Currently you don’t have enough of it. If it is unpaid time you take. Pick up some creative work. Or do some online surveys to keep some form of consitant cash flow coming in. Just a thought
